Overview: Hey, this was a good game. Dont listen to those people on G4 who only played it for a day untill they got stuck, then reviewed on what they accomplished, which wasnt much. Anyway this is a really deep game with a good story, it may not be the most original, but egh.
Graphics: At the time, the graphics were really good. Now their starting to look a little out-dated. Their is plenty of detail in everything. From the moving of clothes when their is wind, to the twitch of your hand. Definetly satisfieing.
4/5
Music/Audio: The music in this game is great, but let me say one thing about the voice acting: Its like listening to a veary, VEARY low budget, english dubbed anime for 20 hours, but if you go to Japan, buy this game just for the Japanese voices. If you dont and get the English version, sucks. I know their are some people (DRAKE!) that prefere English over Japanese, but seriously, this has to be the worst voices EVER in a game.
2/5
Gameplay: The controlls may be tedious at first, but you eventually get used to them. What bugs me is that you use the D-pad to move, and the controll stick to move, that gets really annoying. One interesting feature in this game is the QTE sequences, much like RE4 (note: this was made years before it came out). Their is some fighting in this game, were you finally unleash your Ju-Jitsu furry. But other than that its just walking around and asking random people for information, which X-Play made fun of the most... "Do you know any sailors?". Ok, he doesnt say that the whole game, its was just one part that they probobly got stuck on. It took me a while to figure out what to do, same with them.
3/5
Story: The story in this game is pretty good, but it develops over a veary long period of time. This isnt the type of game you beat in a week. Heck, I've had this game over 3 years, and I havent gotten past the second disc, but I dont play a lot. Well the story is about a 19ish guy who's father gets killed by the Yakuza. Well the guy that killed him was Lan-Di, a Chinese martial arts expert. He takes a family earloom (I think, havent gotten to far in the game) that is veary improtant, and Ryo Hazuki swears for revenge. Yea, this has NEVER been done before. Damn I was wrong in the beggening, the story isnt even that great.
3/5
Overall: This game tries to be deep, but it fails. It pretty much lies to you when it says "LOLZ do anything you want!" but seriously, you walk around asking people for information on stuff they've never even heard of, and 75% of the people you talk to just say their busy, hey, cities in Japan like Tokyo are busy, a suburban area like in this game, isnt. Well if you like an RPG with poor voice acting, this is for you.
6.5/10
Rent, buy,or avoid?: Egh, probobly a mix between avoid and buy. The game is ok for a while, and it takes a really long time for you to actually get into it, once you do get into it, your done with the game. So I'd say avoid rather than buy.
