Release Date: 11/16/04
Designer: Valve
Genre: Action/Shooter/First-Person/Sci-Fi
Overview: This is one of my favorite FPS's of all time. If you have the right stuff for your computer, you can really enjoy this title
Graphics: Simply outstanding. Valve's source engine is really pushing the limits for PC gaming. What really wins the prize is the facial animations. Which is so fluent and life like it'll just blow you way
5/5
Music/Audio: The sound in all the weapons is pretty good. Nothing out of this world though. Their isnt much music in the game, which adds to the "loneliness" of it all. Music only appears shortly usually when something big is about to happen, like a huge squad of enemies about to sorround you. The voice acting in this game is pretty good, but nothing ground breaking.
3/5
Gameplay: The controlls are nothing more then you would expect in a FPS. WASD to move, numbers or scroll to change weapon, R to reload stuff like that. What really makes the gameplay unique is the gravity gun, which just makes the physics in this game 10x more fun. This game has some of the most realistic physics I've ever seen. Some of the weapons, beside the crowbar, are just veary memorable. I really enjoy using the energy ball with the combine rifle. They just desinegrate when you shoot them.
5/5
Story: Some people may complain about the story in this game. As their isnt much. It continues right off from the first game, but thats a whole different review. Well you wont get many answer many questions that you had in the old game, because this one just brings about 100 more. The fun and point of it is for you to make your own asumptions on the backrounds of certain characters, mainly the G-man.
2/5
Overall: This game is truely ground breaking, but lacks deepness in the story. The whole atmosphere in the game is truelly breathtaking, you actually feel like you are their.
8/10
Buy or avoid?: If you were a fan of the old game, then you definetly need to play this game...if your computer can handle it. For those looking for a great story, your at the wrong place.
Screens:
The sun...IT BURNS!
Die...die...die
Do I know you from somwere?
Hey look! Its War Of The Worlds!
